Consarc Engineering Ltd provides a comprehensive service and product range of vacuum furnaces for advanced material processing. Together with a recognised range of standard products, we have more than 60 years’ experience in supplying custom-built equipment to suit highly specialised or individual requirements. We now seek a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Eurocentral, Holytown.
Primary Responsibilities
Mechanical assembly and test of the following systems within a vacuum furnace:
- Water – manifolds, pump skids and interconnections between these and the furnace. You must have experience of using material such as mild steel, stainless steel and copper. Brazing experience would be advantageous.
- Pneumatics – experience in running pneumatic lines from valves, devices and air islands.
- Vacuum – installation of vacuum pipelines (bolted connections) and vacuum components.
- Inert Gas – running of gas lines again to devices, using materials such as stainless steel.
- Other mechanical assembly duties involving furnace components that require precision and quality workmanship.
- Fault finding of mechanical systems where necessary;
- Carry out inspection of component parts as required;
- Vacuum and pressure test components and systems (training will be given);
- Carry out on site repairs and installations at our customers sites.
It would be advantageous to also have experience in hydraulic circuitry and some basic welding ability.
Additional Skills / Qualifications
You must be a time served mechanical fitter with a conscientious and meticulous approach to your work. You must be flexible in your approach to work and be willing to be developed into other areas. Being able to read and work with engineering drawings is essential. Ideally you would have a forklift and scissor lift licence and be trained to work in confined spaces.
