Melting, Holding and Pouring

Of all the processes used to produce metals, alloys and metal products, melting is the most fundamental. It’s the starting point for hundreds of metal manufacturing operations that result, eventually, in the vast number of finished metal products used by modern society.

In many cases, the lives of those products begin in the harsh, yet technologically advanced environments known as melt shops. Here, reaching very high temperatures, metals of all kinds are melted, held at high temperature, then poured into secondary containers for further processing. Understanding these conditions, Inductotherm Group equipment—furnaces, pouring systems, power supply units and more— are not only designed with sophisticated metallurgic controls for efficient thermal processing, but with a rugged reliability that is known the world over.
