Overview

Consarc® Induction Skull Melting (ISM) furnaces offer refractory-free cold-crucible induction melting for superior cleanliness without the risk of reaction or contamination from ceramics. Consarc® ISM furnaces provide superior chemical and thermal homogeneity when compared to more traditional methods of melting reactive materials such as arc skull casting, plasma arc melting, or electron beam melting.

Consarc has experience melting over 3,000 different alloys in ISM furnaces.

Electromagnetic Cold Crucible (EMCC)

Consarc’s Electromagnetic Cold Crucible (EMCC) furnaces are a specialty sub-type of withdrawal ISM for making ingots of solar silicon or similar materials
Available with round or square cross-section crucibles
Feedstock pre-heating for process initiation and electromagnetic coupling
Controlled cooling of the solidified ingot
