Overview

Consarc engineers small to medium size Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) systems that are used by precious metal foundries, industrial facilities, and academic institutions for pilot-scale production, alloy development, and process research. R&D VIMs can range from several pounds to 1 ton and larger based on desired application.

Consarc® research and development VIM systems are customizable for specific applications with the addition of various options like vacuum packages, furnace configurations, and accessories – ensuring that every system is up to the task for which it is designed.

A wide variety of furnace configurations available – furnaces are custom engineered and designed specifically for individual user’s process
Easy access to the melt chamber for charging, maintenance, and coil repair
Can utilize billet, revert, or virgin charge material in multiple charging systems
Controls can be provided to customer’s specifications, from simple PLC-based terminal to full PC data logging
Robust Inductotherm® induction power supplies and induction coils, purpose-built for vacuum applications
Immersion thermocouple and optical pyrometer temperature monitoring available
Flexible options for charge additions
Sampling and testing devices available
