We currently seek an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our team based from our European manufacturing base in Eurocentral, Holytown.
What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the installation, carrying out commissioning and acceptance testing, preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair of furnace equipment at customer sites worldwide. Though based in the UK, the position requires extensive travel in UK / Europe. This role is ideally suited to a person with an electro/mechanical maintenance background seeking a role in the service / installation industry.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for timely installation, commissioning or servicing of companies’ VF Range.
- Complete field service and installation / commissioning reports in a timely manner.
- Report defects and site modification to Engineering team to ensure accurate records and drawing are maintained in line with the company’s ISO9001 quality system.
- Maintain all company assets in good working order and maintain professional appearance at all times.
- Conduct customer interface in a professional and friendly manner.
- Identify areas of improvement on equipment and liaise with Engineering / Manufacturing teams.
- Maintain a safe working environment and safeguard personal wellbeing and those of customer personnel by identifying and being aware of risks on site.
- Able to travel > 75% of the time.
- Be proactive on customer’s site - be prepared to work extended hours to complete a job or task beyond normal business hours.
- Perform general housekeeping as required.
Qualifications / Experience
- Electrical and /or Mechanical qualification C&G or equivalent.
- Understand electrical schematics.
- Understand mechanical drawing.
- Previous experience of fault finding and regular maintenance functions of mechanical assemblies, drives, pumps.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, water, hydraulic & electrical systems and their functions.
- Working knowledge of temperature control instrumentation, invertors PLC’s and HMIs.
- Experience with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC programmes. Experience with other types will be considered.
- Experience with fault finding PLC programs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programmes.
Additional Skills / Qualifications
(Advantageous but not essential as product training will be provided)
- Knowledge of vacuum technology
- BS7671 18th Edition Qualification
- C&G 2391-52 Initial and periodic inspection and testing
- Ability to modify PLC programs to instructions given by the engineering department
